Cellist Denise Djokic is one of the most exciting talents of her generation and has thrilled audiences worldwide with the youthful vigour, confidence and passion of her playing.

Marc Djokic

Marc began his violin studies at the age of six with his father, violinist Philippe Djokic. He has been the recipient of several awards and scholarships including the Kiwanis Festival of Music Rose Bowl Prize, the Hudson Community Scholarship, the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation Scholarship Award, and several NSTT Awards, including the prestigious Raymond Simpson Award, and the Lieutenant Governor's Award.

Simon Shaw

Simon Shaw graduated with many awards and honours, including four Talent Trust scholarships, in the spring of 2007 from the Newark and Sherwood School of Violin Making and Repair, Newark, England. This institution is one of the foremost violin making schools in the world. Simon is now a professional luthier practicing in Halifax.

The Nova Scotia Talent Trust has supported me every step of the way, from my earliest beginnings in the study of music to my current pursuit of a master's degree in music composition at McGill. Nova Scotia Talent Trust - Application Deadlines for 2015

Halifax, NS - The Nova Scotia Talent Trust (NSTT) would like to remind all potential applicants that its deadline dates for 2015 are fast approaching.  For the second year, the NSTT is pleased to announce that its scholarship application process will happen online, thanks to the generous support of, a Halifax based web design and development firm and the Support4Culture Program in 2014.

The NSTT advises applicants to read the submission guidelines carefully and to submit their applications early since there are a number of changes to submission procedures this year.  The deadline for Spring/Summer study is 5:00 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time (AST) on 1 March, and the deadline for Fall/Winter study is 5:00 p.m. Atlantic Daylight Saving Time (ADT) on 1 May. All applications must be submitted by these dates.

The Nova Scotia Talent Trust is a registered charity that provides scholarships to Nova Scotians who are interested in furthering their education in the arts in theatre, dance, music, circus arts, media, film, literary, and visual arts, fine craft and design. Since 1944, the NSTT has assisted over 1,900 Nova Scotians with awards and scholarships totaling over $2 million.
